Our Program

Phase 1: Active Weight Loss

During the active weight loss phase, you will meet regularly with Dr. Nguyen and the medical staff. Your first visit usually lasts about an hour to an hour and a half.  We will do a comprehensive body composition analysis and a history and physical; and we will prescribe the appropriate plan for you, depending on your goals and expectations.  We will answer any and all questions you may have. 

Phase 2: Transition

Transition is when you will gradually increase your calorie intake as well as your physical activity level. Medications, if any, will be monitored closely and adjusted as needed.  You will learn how to self monitor your weight, and we will also space out your visits. 

Phase 3: Maintenance

During maintenance, you will have the confidence and all the tools you need to keep your weight stable.  You will have a better relationship with food, and you will have the energy to keep up with your physical activity level.  We will continue follow-up appointments so that you do not re-gain the weight that you have lost.

What to expect

Your first visit to MD Weight Loss establishes a vital foundation for our relationship with you.  During the first visit, we make sure to obtain important background information, like your medical history, and give you time to familiarize yourself with our practice and our staff.  Below, you'll find all the practical information you need, such as a map and directions to our office, practice hours, payment policies and more.
